One of my favorite parts of painting is to create many mixtures of one color by adding other hues, tints and tones. This painting began with color mixing and was painted in the spring. Winter in the North East does not allow for walks among grass, under shaded trees or among flowers. But spring comes and out I go for long hikes in woods, along beaches, stroll gardens and observe flowers just opening. There is nothing as lovely as a pink color after a long winter to warm the heart.
